Pediatric Dentist in San Jose, CA

Pediatric Dentistry

We welcome children of our community of all ages. We recommend the first visit to the dentist for your child to be three years old in order to establish a comprehensive and accessible ongoing relationship between the dentist and patient. We also educate the parents about prevention early on to commence a well-maintained dental routine for your child. Our services for pediatric patients include dental white fillings, root canals, crowns and extractions. In rare occasions, we refer our patients to kids’ specialists to handle complicated cases that may require sedation.

Once a month, we specify a Saturday for our pediatric patients to come for their periodic check-ups. We have prizes, a clown and balloons to create an unforgettable visit that they would look forward to every 6 months.

Root Canal Treatment (Endodontic Treatment)

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed

We perform root canal treatments, in most cases, using the latest technology in the market to provide a predictable outcome and a comfortable painless procedure in our state-of-the-art office.

Oral Surgery Treatment

The oral surgery service that we provide at our office is: Tooth extractions.

A tooth may need to be extracted for the following reasons:

  • Severe decay
  • Advanced periodontal disease
  • Infection or abscess
  • Orthodontic correction
  • Malpositioned teeth
  • Fractured teeth or roots
  • Impacted teeth
After careful examination and treatment, the dentist may advise having a tooth extracted. We will take an x-ray in order to understand the shape and position of the tooth and surrounding bone. Most extractions are done in our office. In some complicated cases, we may refer you to an oral surgeon to complete the procedure.

Restorative Dentistry

Restorative services we provide in our office are:

Mouth Guards

Night guards

An increasing risk of teeth grinding and clenching nowadays is mainly due to stress. Most patients are unaware of the condition as it subconsciously happens during sleep and carries on as a habit during the day. We recommend custom-made night guards to protect the teeth from cracking or fracturing, TMJ disorders or jaw pain and headaches. In severe cases, we may suggest medications and/or Botox injections.

Sports guards

Custom designed mouthguards are made of flexible plastic and molded to fit the shape of your teeth. Sports Mouthguards are recommended to protect the jaw and teeth during physical activity and sports such as boxing, football, basketball, or other activities where your mouth maybe hit. Guards also protect the soft tissues of your tongue, lips and cheek lining.

Sleep Apnea Appliances

Oral appliances for the treatment of sleep apnea continue to increase in popularity as awareness grows amongst the public that oral appliances are an effective first-line treatment for many sleep apnea sufferers. Many oral appliances are FDA approved for the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. These appliances are worn in the mouth, just like a sports mouth guard or an orthodontic appliance, while you sleep. Oral appliances hold the lower jaw forward just enough to keep the airway open and prevent the tongue and muscles in the upper airway from collapsing and blocking the airway.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax. Nitrous oxide, sometimes called “laughing gas,” is one option your dentist may offer to help make you more comfortable during certain procedures.
